Guest Policy
Guests are welcome to attend the graduation ceremony. Limited parking will be available in the TVHS north parking lot. Additional parking will be available along Indian School Road and at Ruth Fisher Middle School. Please do not bring balloons or signs that will block the view of others, you will be asked to leave these items at the gate or return them to your car. Seating is first come, first served. No saving seats, please arrive together or wait at the gate until the party is present.
Ceremony
Graduates are to report to the gym no later than 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 22nd (professional pictures will be available from 4:30-6:30PM) https://mydorian.com/search/account/abb72701-0a4a-417e-b5ff-9a9a32f3dbb6/).
ONLY GRADUATES (NO FRIENDS OR FAMILY) WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE GYM AREA AFTER 6:30 PM.
Graduates will park in the main TVHS parking lot. Please let families know that parking will be limited and families will have to walk..
Graduates are not to chew gum, wear sunglasses, or wear/carry corsages and/or bouquets.
Graduates are not to carry anything with them during the ceremony (including their phones!)
THE USE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED DURING THE CEREMONY AND MAY BE CONFISCATED.
During the ceremony, graduates will receive a diploma cover. Immediately after the ceremony, diplomas may be picked up in the gym. Only graduates may pick up their diploma.
Inappropriate behavior during graduation will result in the student being removed from the ceremony, possible police involvement, and the student receiving disciplinary action. The student’s transcript and diploma will be withheld until the disciplinary action has been resolved.
The graduation ceremony is an important event in the lives of our students and their families, therefore, we want the ceremony to reflect the dignity of the occasion. PLEASE DO NOT BRING AIRHORNS OR OTHER SUCH ITEMS THAT MAY BE INTRUSIVE and please discourage friends and family members from bringing such items as well.
NO BALLOONS ARE ALLOWED. Make sure you tell parents/families.
Dress Code for Seniors
This is a formal ceremony – if you are dressed inappropriately, you will not be allowed to participate in your graduation ceremony.
All students are required to dress to impress, some examples include slacks, button down shirts with or without a tie, dresses, skirts and blouses.
Keep in mind you will be outside and you will be wearing a gown on top of your clothes – it will be warm!
You may want to use bobby pins to secure your cap to your head.
Do not alter or decorate your cap and/or gown in any way.
The tassel will be worn on the RIGHT side of the cap until it is announced to change the tassel by moving it to the LEFT side of the cap.
The administration will answer any questions regarding appropriate dress for graduation. Make sure you check in advance if you have any questions, concerns, or doubts.
