History came to life in AP U.S. History last week! 🎷✨
Students participated in Mrs. Arrowood's annual 1920s APUSH Party, where they took on the roles of influential figures from the 1920s. After researching their assigned celebrities and historical icons, students mingled in character, sharing their achievements and the cultural trends that shaped the era.
From incredible 1920s attire to dancing the Charleston and enjoying great food, this engaging tradition continues to be a favorite each year. Learning + fun = unforgettable experiences!

Transportation will be using alternative routes at dismissal. We anticipate a delayed drop off time for many buses. We thank you for your patience as we ensure our students all get home safely.
Due to an accident, the I-10 is closed. We are currently assessing the situation to determine how or if it will impact transportation at dismissal. We will provide an update as the impact on dismissal becomes more clear.
Frios will be on campus tomorrow. Enjoy a tasty treat and support the SMUSD Odyssey of the Mind program. Pops are $4 and 20% comes back to our students. Thank you @FriosWestValley

Our CTE Law & Public Safety students visited the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab. Our students had an outstanding opportunity to observe and learn directly from professionals working in the field.
During the tour, students were exposed to several critical forensic science processes, including firearms and ballistics analysis, fingerprint comparison, and the latent print development and retrieval process. Crime Lab personnel walked students through how evidence is properly collected, preserved, analyzed, and ultimately used to support criminal investigations and court proceedings.
Experiences like this are invaluable for our students, as they allow them to connect classroom instruction to real-world applications while gaining insight into potential career pathways within law enforcement and forensic science. We are extremely grateful to MCSO and their Crime Lab staff for taking the time to engage with our students and provide such a meaningful, hands-on learning experience.
Thank you for your continued support of our Law & Public Safety program.

Tonopah Valley High School had an amazing CTE Month celebration! 🎉
Students enjoyed interactive lunch games hosted by our CTE programs and competed in daily CTE Trivia for gift cards (speed definitely mattered!).
We were also honored to welcome the Goodyear PD Forensic Team and the Sheriff's Department to work with our Law & Public Safety students as they prepare for SkillsUSA Regionals.
So proud of our students and the real-world opportunities CTE provides! 💙
